Living in a big city makes our days stressful and hard to cope with. The huge buildings, the staggering amounts of people we see in the street everyday somewhat deprives us of our identity, making us anonymous. But this is why I love fashion. It is my own way to make myself stand out and simply be me. It’s what gets me up every day «what should I wear today? ».
However, fashion can sometimes become anonymous as well. Everyone carries on them the latest trends. We see copies of the same style. I disagree because I believe that you, yourself, your personality, energy and vibe can give a whole new atmosphere on the look you are carrying. The I in Fashion is the most important aspect of having a personal style. It takes courage, imagination and a lot of character to create an outfit and make it your own. Think of it as a signature. It is unique nevertheless.
Being only 19 years old, I have yet to find myself. This is why I still have a lot to learn about fashion and this is why I try new things and experiment with different styles and outfits. Fashion to me is not a constant state of stillness. On the contrary, it’s a state of change and evolution. It’s a way to express oneself.
Now, a little bit more about myself. I am currently studying Journalism and Mass Media Communications at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece. So being a college fashionista I’ve stepped up my game. Whilst in high school, my styling choices were limited to the restrictions of my school and the close minded people around me. Now that I’m a university student I have the freedom to truly make my own decisions as an independent adult. There are no limits.  I can go from casual, to classy, to street style, to athletic etc.
On my free time I usually read classic literature and watch movies. I LOVE Mexican cuisine and I like trying new things. Travelling is one of my biggest musts. I share an apartment with my sister. I actually have 3 siblings. Recently I kind of fell in love with interior design and decoration. One phrase to describe me? “I’d rather be shopping”.
I’m Alex and I’m a college fashionista. Let’s have a RAD semester.
