The weather has finally started to get cooler here in Kentucky, which makes it acceptable to start wearing beloved fall clothes. I have never been a fan of the cold, but I definitely love fall fashion more than the simple summer style. Fall is the time when people start to wear my favorite shades (black, gray and maroon) and when you can layer apparel pieces making for a cozy yet chic look.
This Fashionista styled a lovely fall look with subtle details. Her entire outfit is very comfy while giving the illusion that she has dressed to impress. Long shirts are a great staple piece for fall. This style can pair well with any kind of pants, and it looks great with shorter jackets because it adds layer to an outfit. This Fashionista’s detailed leggings help to embellish her look while keeping her warm and comfortable. This style of leggings can make an outfit seem more dressed up because of the details and stitch pattern. One of my favorite trends over this past year has been socks with heels. I love to see people pair things that do not typically go together. These light gray knit socks are warm and draw attention to this Fashionista’s shoes–which are another great staple component to have for fall. Black suede booties are comfortable to wear and match almost any type of sweater.
This Fashionista added details to this simple look with many chic elements. She started by wearing a bold black hat. This style of hat gives an extra edge to her look, and it makes her much more noticeable when walking down the street. Lace is lovely, appealing and adds a simple detail to any type of outfit. Her tan lace tank top gives her simple shirt more details, and this shade beautifully contrasts with maroon.
Sometimes it can be difficult to wear bracelets in colder weather because they aren’t seen underneath a long sleeve T-shirt and jacket. Half length sleeves allow for jewelry to be shown, but when this is not an option, I recommend wearing a couple of rings to keep your outfit accessorized. Earrings in my opinion are the perfect fall accessory because they will be seen no matter what you are wearing–as long as you don’t wear earmuffs. This Fashionista’s white, dangly feathers contrast well with her hair and draw attention to her face.
Remember that just because the weather gets colder doesn’t mean you have to settle for a plain old sweatshirt. This Fashionista’s outfit is a great example of how someone can be warm and comfortable while still looking stylish. I think the key to styling fall outfits is to add in details. Everyone is going to have on long pants and a jacket, but adding in the details is what can allow for you to stand out.
