It’s finally upon us, Fashionistas. Summer’s been nice and all, but as soon as the first chill in the air hits, or you walk into your friend’s apartment and she has a candle burning that’s called “Crisp Autumn Walk”, that’s when you know: fall is here.
If you’re like me, you probably agree that fall is the most exciting season for fashion. Trust me, I love being able to look cool and more carefree during the summer, but there’s only so much I can do with a T-shirt and jeans (I’m just not a shorts person). So as soon as I felt the first hint of crispness in the air, I broke out my ivory overcoat. It’s comfortable, yet doesn’t skimp on style and because it’s a neutral shade, it will go with almost anything in your closet from a plain white T-shirt and jeans, to an oversized hoodie and dark leather bottoms for a more street-style look. Check out a similar style here!
I chose to play with a more autumnal color palette with my sartorial pairings and went with a light brown turtleneck sweater, and because it was a sunny, fall day, I paired the sweater with my gold reflective aviators. I don’t know what it is about these sunnies, but they remind me of fall so much, probably because the shade looks like a pumpkin spice latte, if the PSL was made of liquid gold or something.
My jeans are probably my favorite part of this outfit. Two-tone denim has been a huge trend as of late (see: Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Alessandra Ambrosio if you don’t believe me), and even managed to show up in the collection of Demna Gvasalia’s fashion tour de force, Vetements. Two-tone denim is a great way to give your jeans the edge they need, and look great on both men and women. The pair I have on sits higher on the waist and is a more relaxed fit, but will look great as skinnies also. Pair them with a sleek pair of ankle boots, and you’re all set.
I’m so hyped that fall is finally here, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing everybody’s wardrobes do a complete 180 with the arrival of chilly weather.
