I recently had the amazing opportunity to see Central Park in the fall, for the first time, and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to take some style shots there for this month’s post. It really does look and feel like it’s straight from a movie. The vibrant changing colors were beautiful and served as the perfect backdrop for this shoot.
The emerging trend I’ve noticed all over campus lately is fishnets. They’re definitely making a comeback right now. Most of you are probably thinking that these can be hard to pull off, especially for a casual day look, but it can be done. I’ve observed students on campus pairing them with shorts, skirts and over sized sweatshirt dresses––making them the focal point of their outfit. While those are great looks, I happened to notice this Fashionista’s different take on the trend, and really liked it. She wore her fishnets under her jeans, having them just peek out between the bottom cuff of her jeans and her ankle boots. This is a great and easy way to add some detail to an outfit and to take a simple outfit to the next level. The way she incorporated the fishnets into her outfit is also perfect for anyone who is hesitant about trying out this trend for the first time. You can finish off the outfit with a simple long coat like she did or even a leather jacket.
So give it a try! Incorporate full fishnets like these under your jeans, or pair your boots or favorite sneakers with a pair of fishnet socks to add the perfect detail and bit of edge to any outfit!
