Hey, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! With the end of 2016 quickly approaching and the lists of rankings of the best trends of 2016 being curated, I was able to find my favorite beauty trend of the year with ease. I can’t exactly say that I was always on board with the trend, considering it almost instantaneously gave me flashbacks of the sixth grade. But, as the year progressed, I grew a liking for the ultimate throwback of trends. I may (or may not) have to credit recent runway shows from Alexander Wang and Saint Laurent for my new obsession, but it’s here and I have a feeling that it’s ready to stay.
The current GuruGang member pictured wears the trend almost as well as she wears her outfits. By bravely taking the plunge and chopping off the front of her luscious locks, she’s been able to create an entirely new look. From total sweetheart to edgy trendsetter, she’s perfected the image. I personally love this look because I believe that it gives you the ability to brand yourself in an entirely different way. Typically, you would judge someone off of first glance based on their outfit. But, with a haircut of this sort, your outfit no longer is the only thing that defines you. I view it as an amazingly simple, stylish and easy transformation for anyone!
Not only has she perfected her beauty look, but she’s also made the perfect outfit to pair with it. To help cope with the chilly New Jersey December days, she’s taken layering to a whole new level. Featuring everyone’s favorite winter trend, the oversized fur jacket, she’s added the perfect eye-catching piece. You can find one similar to the one that she, and every other trendsetter, is wearing at Forever21. With every statement piece, it’s best to keep the rest of the outfit simple. By pairing it with a plain tank top, an oversized belt and, my favorite, slit-at-the-knee black jeans, everyone’s eyes are drawn to the statement pieces of her outfit: her coat and her hair.
I hope everyone has a great end of the semester and I can’t wait to see my fellow Fashionista/os’s for the Spring semester!
