Hi, friends! My name is Kaitlin and I am currently a freshman at the University of Washington. The plan is to major in marketing and hopefully go into the fashion industry. Before moving to Seattle for college, I’ve always lived about a half an hour drive right outside of the city, and was constantly surrounded by both city and outdoorsy life (which creates a perfect balance to curb my obsessions for shopping and hiking). A few other random facts about me: I have my own personal blog about my life, I have a tattoo on my rib cage, and Zara is my absolute fave.
I think it’s always important to experiment, especially when it comes to clothes. People shouldn’t be confined to a certain way of dressing. If you like a look—go for it! Of course, there are trends that come and go, but there is never a right or wrong way to dress, nor is there a handbook to fashion. Style is who you are and that’s what’s beautiful about clothes. It’s a unique art form given from a single glance of a person. But with that said, I have definitely grown my own taste in clothes and what I feel cool and comfy wearing. I would categorize my style as a mix of chic and hipster, with a dash of edgy.
The rumors that Seattle is rainy and cold are very true during the winter time. But I am in love with mock necks and velvet for the winter season. It’s a perfect combination of elegant and comfy with a super fun texture. I also own quite a few bomber jackets (they’re a closet staple for me), and cute jackets are key in cold weather! High-waisted jeans also elongate my already long legs and I love it. My closet includes a lot of high-waisted denim just for this sole purpose.
I am so excited for the rest of my first #RAD semester as a Style Guru! Make sure to check out all my social media and follow me for updates on future posts!
