Hi friends! Recently here in Northern Virginia the weather has dropped tremendously. It’s currently 26 degrees outside as I type this. While the weather has been pretty consistent lately, there are days where it can warm up a little (and by warm up I mean a high of 57). It can already be a struggle to dress warm AND cute in the winter, and the temperature changes do not help out with that. I sat and thought about what can be constants in one’s wardrobe when the weather decides to go haywire and what I came up with was accessories.
Accessories can make or break an outfit; let’s be real. The right necklace or the right earrings can do wonders for a simple outfit. You can wear accessories through every season and most times they don’t have to be hidden be a bulky (but warm) coat. When I came across this Fashionista, I knew I wanted to capture her use of accessories.
She paired this tan Calvin Klein blouse with a black exposed zipper skirt from Express and a pair of black Nine West ballet flats. For her accessories she kept it simple with a fuchsia scarf from Forever 21 and some black knee-high socks from Free People. As someone who loves versatile outfits, I love how you can switch out the socks for patterned tights if it’s colder.
The socks and scarf can still be worn with a heavy coat on and still be seen. Accessories are a great way to spice up winter outfits while still staying cozy and cute!
