STYLE GURU BIO: Bree Fesh

Hi, how are ya?  And nice to meet ya!  My name is Briana, but please call me Bree. This is my first semester as a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista and I am so stoked to be on board!  So before you start reading my monthly articles this semester, I’m sure you want to know a little more about me first, right?  Well for starters, I am a sophomore at Point Park University majoring in psychology, meaning I am residing in the Ice‘burgh, better known as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I was born and raised.  However, this isn’t my first rodeo with college. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh back in 2014. But after working in my field for two years, I decided as much as I love art, I wasn’t fulfilled by my advertising job.  Therefore, I decided that I wanted to go back to school and earn a degree that would allow me to help others.  So, here I am!

A few more things you should know about me are as follows: First, I have a very deep love of style (which I’m sure you have already assumed), and even at the age of 23, I still feel that it is totally acceptable to play dress up.  So much so, I started my very own style blog called Stark Raving Chic, which will be turning two years old this March.

The one thing I must say about my wardrobe is it is incredibly diverse.  This is simply because I think sticking with one style would be dreadfully boring and I just love experimenting with all kinds of different styles and clothing. For instance, I am sure you can tell from the photos above that I enjoy pairing bohemian chic styles such as my zigzag shirt dress and wide brimmed felt hat with more glamorous pieces such as my grandmother’s fur coat, mirrored cat eye shades, and sky high booties.

I get a lot of my style inspiration from old Hollywood starlets such as Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and Audrey Hepburn.  I am also a bit obsessed with styles reminiscent of the 1970s (I don’t care what anyone says, bell bottoms will always be in style and jumpsuits will always be chic).  And though I have got to admit I have a ton of black clothing in my closet, I also have many pastels and romantic girly pieces as well.

Lastly, when I am not styling, blogging, taking photos, or studying, I can often be found wandering around the Warhol Museum or enjoying an Americano at Big Dog Coffee in South Side, because caffeine is a major necessity. So, have a cup, stay awhile, and join me for this #RAD semester!
