Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Alyssa Gallagher and I am so excited to start my journey as a Style Guru! I am a freshman at Meredith College where I am studying fashion merchandising and design with a concentration in design. Meredith College is a private women’s college located in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I also happen to be from!
I can usually be found rocking out at a concert, making spontaneous trips, or hanging out at home with my Pomeranian named Thor. My dream is to one day start my own fashion design company and open up my own fashion design houses all over the world. I know that I have big dreams, but as a Style Guru, I hope to get one step closer to achieving them.
I have always loved and been intrigued by fashion. Fashion to me isn’t just the clothes we wear, it is a means of expression. Through fashion, we can share our personalities with others. I love the idea of making bold statements and standing out in a crowd. Why follow trends when you can make your own? That’s my motto.
I am still trying to define my own personal style. I love experimenting, so It always seems to change, although certain characteristics stay the same. If I were to describe my sense of style, I would say feminine and classy, with a hint of an edge. It is important to explore when it comes to fashion and to try new things. It is through this exploration that we find out who we truly are.
Winter is here. Which means layers, jackets, boots, fuzzy socks, you name it! As seen above, I bring you a look that is both simple yet sweet. I LOVE boots! And what better way to wear boots than with boot socks. Boot socks are down right adorable and come in all different colors and styles. My pink boot socks above give my gray boots a pop of fun color which draws the eye in. I am also obsessed with army green jackets. Talk about edge. Pairing my army green jacket with black skinny jeans, a grey tank, pink scarf, and Michael Kors handbag, really brings the look together. Nothing is better than maintaining comfort while staying stylish.
I can not wait to share and continue discovering my own personal style with all of you! Let’s do this thing. Spring semester here we come!
