Hiya, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Welcome to the most magical post on CollegeFashionista because I’m taking you to Disney Springs! As I am finishing up my second Disney College Program down here in Orlando, I thought that Walt Disney World would be the perfect spot to find a Fashionista.
For those of you unfamiliar (which is totally okay!) with Disney Springs, it used to be known as Downtown Disney but with a major brand and shopping, dining, and entertainment experience change. Disney Springs now hosts some of your favorite stores such as Zara, Anthropology, Free People, Lilly Pulitzer, Lucky Brand, and more while bringing in some more really great restaurants like The Boathouse and Frontera Cocina. I can’t help but find myself coming at least once a week to see a movie, grab something to eat with my boyfriend, or to run into my favorite store and see what’s new.
After grabbing some Starbucks with a fellow Fashionista, we deiced to walk around to find some of the best spots to take some pictures and Disney Springs has many great spots that are Instagram-worthy. It was a cold, chilly Florida morning and this Fashionista was dressed in a smart, comfortable yet style-worthy outfit. It was agreed that while at Disney World, the perfect outfit is one that you don’t mind walking around in a lot while balancing the ever-changing weather and looking cute. That is why in the Floridian winter, the best idea is light layers and comfy shoes.
This Fashionista pairs a lightweight, hunter green top with a dark purple vest and a white scarf. It is not uncommon to find the day to start off with a super chilly morning where one would be really glad for the layers but then by late afternoon it be in the mid-80s. If she wanted to, this Fashionista could easily take off the vest and still have a style-worthy outfit suited for warmer weather.
The details in this outfit really showcase her individuality. The rolled-up cuffs of her jeans gives a slight bit of edge while being casual. Her watch determines timeliness and shows Cast Member awareness. The silver bracelet is actually the coordinates of this Fashionista’s favorite Disney ride, Pirates of the Caribbean (loving the subtle nod to the parks themselves!). The Kate Spade purse is at once chic and the perfect size to wear at the parks: one that is just large enough for the basic park needs yet lets a guest focus on the fun instead of being dragged down by a too heavy purse. The shoes are comfy for walking but complement the outfit.
An outfit for a day at the Walt Disney World parks or Disney Springs does not need to be overly complicated, just one that balances comfort with style. With a pair of sunglasses and some mouse ears any Fashionista or Fashionisto can conquer a fun Disney day worthy of Instagram.
