Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Marisa Chen and I am a freshman majoring in merchandising management at Oregon State University. I was born and raised in Salem, Oregon, which is just an hour away from the city of Portland, the Oregon coast, and the mountains.
I believe that you can never wear too much black. I live by the phrase, “Stay humble, hustle hard.” I believe in true love. I’m always hungry. There is nothing wrong with overdressing. Everything happens for a reason.
I’m going to OSU to study business and fashion in hopes of a career in visual merchandising, social media marketing, or maybe even becoming a full time blogger. I have major love for fashion and could spend all day shopping and putting together new outfits. I recently started my own fashion/college blog, sincerelymar.com where I write about the latest trends, college life, and my travel adventures.
I would describe my style as minimal yet functional and chic. Neutrals are my go-to and I put my attention into detail and quality. I could never have too many heeled booties (probably because I’m only 5’0″).
Above I styled a cozy mock neck sweater with black jeans and booties. This sweater is a great layer under a leather jacket or parka for the winter. A structured bag is key for a day out to store everything you need for the day. Ever since I bought them, my black heeled booties have been all I ever wear because they have just the right amount of heel and go with everything.
I am so excited to see where being a Style Guru will take me. I hope you all have a stylish and rewarding 2017. The world is your runway!
