Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer and I was born and raised in the Bay Area. Currently, I am a junior studying business administration with a focus in marketing at Pacific Union College. I love how fashion is the art of expression. Fashion can reveal a person’s culture, personality, likes, mood, etc.
My sense of style is inspired by the simplicity, grace, and elegance found in ballet. In the past ten years I was energized by dancing—mainly ballet. I loved all the costumes I got to wear for the dozens of recitals and performances. I’m especially inspired by Dior F/W 12 show because of the flowy dresses and designs that walked the runway.
As much as I would like to wear skirts and dresses during the winter, I opted to showcase my winter style that nods to the clean lines in ballet. I am wearing an olive-green knit sweater with bell sleeves that creates movement and some fun. The bell sleeves were popular in the 1970s. I paired this with black high-waisted skinny jeans and little black booties. To tie my outfit together, I wore a small gold pendant necklace and gel nail polish.
I am excited to be participating in this internship with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru. I hope that through fashion I can empower girls through the clothes they choose to express themselves. Ultimately, I want to end up in the marketing department for Condé Nast. As a budding Fashionista, I am eager to learn and dive deeper into the world of fashion. I believe that fashion is art.
