Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Katie and this will be my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I’m a sophomore going into my fourth semester at the University of Florida as a journalism student. Although I currently live in Gainesville, Florida (and I love it!), I’m a total city dweller and someday you’ll find me loving life in New York City.
I love to read and my passion for journalism grew from that love of reading. I have blogged about books, movies, and TV shows for about two years now for various websites. I also started my own blog for reviewing and discussing books (nerdy, I know). But about a year ago, I got into fashion blogging and developing others’ style, as well as my own.
I owe my fashion sense to my older sister who has never been afraid to dress edgy and push the envelope with her style. I would never feel confident enough to piece together some of my outfits if I hadn’t been exposed to her rad style. Combat boots, neutrals, and eccentric jewelry are the center of my wardrobe.
I love developing my style from the Fashionistas I see around me. As I said, my sister taught me a lot about having the confidence to wear what I want and seeing others rocking their style just makes me want to do the same! Throughout the years, I have stopped playing it safe and picked out some pieces I never thought I would see myself in. My two favorite styles are neutral T-shirt dresses with layered jewelry, jeans with a loose T-shirt, and a leather or jean jacket/vest. Pair either of those outfits with sneakers or boots/booties, and you’ve got my style in a nutshell.
