This new year marks new beginnings, particularly the opportunity for New Year’s resolutions that will probably never make it past the first month of 2017. But hey, there’s always hoping. One opportunity that excites me in ringing in the new year is being able to return as a Style Guru for a second semester.
I am Nicole Akerman, a sophomore at the University of Florida, pursuing a degree in marketing with a minor in retail. As an intern on the prowl for fashionable students this past fall, I was inspired to create lots of creative content. The internship pushed me beyond my bounds of comfort and provided me with a platform to inspire and to be inspired. Naturally, I cannot wait to roam the halls of my university this spring to further this pursuit.
My life consists of spotting dogs in public, eating my weight in pita chips and hummus, and fashion (of course). I would describe my style as classic, as my wardrobe pieces tend to be timeless. For example, this gold turtleneck is the perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe, whether worn under a jacket, paired with jeans, or styled with a scalloped skirt as I did. Although my university sees mild cold weather, I will be spotted wearing this for many months ahead. In addition, this sportier outwear piece, while not exactly a bomber, is still reminiscent of the trend that I have been seeing in stores everywhere.
Accessories allow you to personalize your outfit even more, especially with a quirky handbag. The Agatha logo gives this classic black clutch the personality it deserves. My nude pair of loafer flats maintain continuity in color and add the finishing element.
Can’t wait to see you all in front of my camera lens this upcoming semester!
