Hello! I’m April Valerie Huang and I’m a third-year student at the University of California, San Diego. I am majoring in communication and plan to complete my degree this year and study abroad in Italy in the fall. My university experience has been a whirlwind of self-growth and self-discovery as I navigate through work, internships, school, extracurriculars, and more.
With each new year comes new resolutions and promises to be better. I’m on a journey to simply find balance in 2017. As someone who prided myself in my ability to multitask and be involved in a million and one activities at a time, I now realize that this is naïve and quite frankly, incredibly inefficient. I know it won’t happen overnight or maybe even at all but I will take it step by step to be a more productive and grounded human being.
I joined CollegeFashionista my first year of university not really knowing what to expect but it played a very pivotal role in my realization of what I wanted to do for the rest of my life—to create. Whether it’s to write more blog posts, film some videos, or reach out to other Style Gurus, creating content and relationships are vital to my career path. I’m looking forward to where this internship and everything I create will take me.
I’m ending my fifth style guru bio with my outfit details. I’m sporting a striped mock neck bodycon dress in a combination of my favorite colors. I paired it with a pastel pink purse and brown booties. This look is my go-to combination for whenever I feel there’s nothing to wear in my closet. Throw on a duster coat over a similar style and you’ll be ready to go.
Cheers to a new year of creating.
