Hi there! I’m Karlee, and this will be my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am currently a student at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee studying fashion merchandising. I went into college with thoughts of going into the medical field, switched my major over four times (and you thought you were indecisive?), but finally ended up pursing what I’ve always loved and found myself gravitating towards, fashion. With that being said, I’m very excited to be apart of CollegeFashionista and the opportunities to come!
My love for all things to do with fashion started in high school. It was really the way I expressed how I was feeling as well as being my creative outlet. Fashion is art in my eyes. Some days I would show up to school wearing knee-highs and a plaid skirt when I was feeling happy and preppy, the next day I could rock a pair of biker boots and leather pants if I was feeling more edgy. I still am the same way today. Fashion is my creative outlet. I’ve also never felt the need to label myself as a certain style, and that’s what I love about fashion. It allows you to be whatever you want to be on any given day.
The outfit pictured is my go-to outfit this winter. It pairs pieces I had from fall such as this suede jacket and incorporates them into a warmer winter look. I love this suede jacket mainly because of it’s rose gold detailing such as zippers up the side of the wrist. I paired this suede jacket with a chunky knit turtleneck in order to stay warm while looking cute in colder weather.
Staying with the neutral theme, this black wool hat tied in the black from my ripped jeans and Chelsea boots. This hat is one of my all time favorites because it’s warm and stylish. I actually cut the knees out of these black jeans myself, wanting a little more detail but being on a college budget.
Stay tuned for more style advice and fashion tips this semester!
