WELCOME TO MY FIRST ARTICLE! Hello beautiful! My name is Rachel Hess and I’m from the beautiful New Jersey. I’m studying fashion merchandising at Immaculata University in Malvern, Pennsylvania, just about an hour from Philadelphia. This semester is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. When I first found out that I was accepted into this internship program, I was gleaming with excitement! Although, I am only in my first year of college I have my heart set on what I see myself doing with my career in the years to come.
All of my life, I have been fascinated with everything that had to do with fame and beauty. From the time I was young, I would tell my mother that I wanted to be famous, I just did not know exactly what I wanted to be known for. Over time, I found out what I want to be known for. I have always admired celebrities. I always tried to think of something that allowed me to tie all my interests into a career that was truly for me. In the future, I want to work as a personal stylist for celebrities and work in Los Angeles or in New York City. My sophomore year, I want to declare communications as my minor.
I have always been interested in style and beauty. I have been dancing for fourteen years. With always have a show or a competition, I had to learn how to do my makeup and I also learned a lot about style from the costumes that I wore in my routines. Dance has also made me have a different mindset than others and basically inspired me to be unique. I learned to do what makes me happy. My career will make me happy as it is unique and something I adore.
For my first article, I wanted to show off my style in the best way that I could. I love to be unique and different, if you couldn’t already tell! Pictured, I am wearing an olive green bodysuit that I scored for $10 ( I KNOW RIGHT!) at a store in Center City Philadelphia called Eternity Fashions. I also purchased my booties from the same store for (drumroll please…) $12. My distressed jeans are from American Eagle and I am wearing fishnet tights underneath. The outfit is basic but the fishnets make it have that unique touch to it. My style is trendy and unique. I wear what I want to wear. I get inspiration for my outfits and I recreate them. The fishnets worn underneath distressed jeans is a trend that I see more people wearing in the future.
This first article may have not been my best because it was my first but I can only get better from here. Being a Style Guru is an amazing opportunity and I am so excited to start my first semester. Stay tuned and follow me on my journey! Stay cute.
