STYLE GURU STYLE: Layered, Layers, Layering

If there are two things I could wear with literally any outfit it would be a jean jacket or a fur vest. With these two simple pieces you can easily dress up or dress down an outfit. It’s so important to me that while I want to dress cute, I also need to be comfortable at the same time, this is why I believe having a few comfortable staple items is a must.

For this outfit, I decided to layer both a jean jacket and fur vest, which I am so in love with. For awkward warm weather in the middle of February it can be kind of hard to decide how to dress for 60 degree weather in the dead of winter. The fur and jean duo act as a big warm coat minus the bulky and unflattering part. I then threw on a black turtleneck with an oversize T-shirt on top, giving it the illusion of a turtleneck dress.

I wore my all-time favorite chunky sneakers to give me a bit of height, even though I’m already 5’8″. It’s still fun to tower over people sometimes. I am also a lover of all things oversize and around five sizes too big for me, so, of course, that goes for my sunglasses, too! I actually found these at a random booth in the L.A. Fashion District this summer, and they were around $10. Still to this day they are one of my favorite pair of sunglasses I own. They are a unique looking aviator style that I just cannot get enough of! With my jewelry, I decided to keep it pretty simple by layering some cute, dainty gold necklaces that I found at a local thrift store.

I’ve learned not to be afraid to put together different patterns, colors, and even textures. I find that the more you mix things up the cuter and more chic the outcome is.
