Hot or cold? I thought I was indecisive, but boy this weather is something else! One day it’s cold, then warm, then raining, then snowing, then warm again with a cool breeze. During this time where the seasons overlap, it is possible to experience every season in just one week. This can definitely cause difficulty getting dressed from day to day. One day a sweater is appropriate, and the very next day you may have to pull out the short sleeve shirt. A true Fashionista knows how to rock it, come rain, snow, sleet, or hail. Is your closet in season? If you answered yes, then rock on Fashionista! If you answered no, then that’s okay too because this Style Guru is going to show you how it’s done. Let’s get into my personal style and how I accomplished this look.
First, what inspired this look was my shirt. It is black and gold so it will pretty much go with anything. This shirt is versatile because it can be dressed up with a skirt or dressed down with your favorite jeans. I love this shirt because it represents who and what I am and because I was feeling edgy with a little spunk, I decided to dress down. With the words on the shirt being at the top, this gave me the opportunity to pull out the high-waisted jeans. The jeans were a bit flared, so I chose to cuff them at the bottom so that my shoes can be seen where they split at the ankle.The black, low cut boots give my outfit a spunkier look, like that personal touch. Along with the black boots, I have added a black and gold choker to tie in all the black accents.
Essentially, this outfit became denim on denim with a pop of black. Adding the jean jacket was initiated because there was still a breeze, despite the warm weather. This is not your typical jean jacket. It is more of a ’90s baby jean jacket vs a modern day style. Last but not least, I kept my natural hair out in this curl-defined fro and added the glasses for a completely stylish and laid back Friday look.
