When I committed to Ohio State, I knew football was about to become a huge part of my life (we are, after all, ranked as the happiest fan base of 2017). While I’m still no sports expert, I do know a thing or two about how to amp up my game-day outfit. The spectator standby we all own is a college t-shirt, and while they may be simple, there are endless ways to take it to the next level with the right extras. Here’s what we plan on pairing our tee with this weekend.
with track pants
These sporty bottoms are my go-to trend at the moment, and wearing them with an Ohio State T-shirt is the easiest way to pull off the perfect look for cheering on your hometown team. Add a pair of classic sneakers and some retro sunglasses, and you’ve basically scored a style touchdown.
with a bomber jacket
This athletic-inspired jacket comes in a range of styles—from faux fur to velvet bombers—so you are guaranteed to find the perfect topper to make your school’s basic tee not so basic after all. I like to add a loose, translucent shirt over my college gear and pair it with black boyfriend jeans, but you can also layer a tighter long-sleeve mesh shirt underneath a tee as well. Add all-black accessories and Vans for some added edge.

You can never wear too much denim, so pull out your best jean jacket and pair it with your favorite blue jeans and a Wisconsin Badgers tee. Or try a denim skirt, throw on platform shoes and colorful sunglasses, and let your school colors take center stage. Â
