Hi there fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Holly and I am a first year journalism student at Ithaca College. I am super excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team this semester and show you all how New Yorkers (upstate New Yorkers, that is) remain fashionable all year long, despite the frigid Ithaca winters.
I’ve had an eye for fashion ever since I was a little girl. I still remember pestering my parents for a certain flower girl dress (I had no wedding to attend) when I was about five. I also remember the pure joy I experienced when they caved and the beauty I felt when I was wearing the pale pink “princess dress”.
Since my princess dress days, my style has evolved immensely. Though I still love to dress up, I find that there is nothing more satisfying than a purchase that appears dressy but is secretly the most comfortable item in my closet. Yes scuba dresses, I’m talking about you. I also enjoy mixing high end fashion with everyday pieces to create a truly versatile and affordable look, which is crucial according to a college girl’s budget.
When I’m not scouting out Fashionista/os on campus I enjoy trying new recipes, practicing yoga, reading and writing my blog. I also love riding and competing horses, which I have been doing for over a decade. My equestrian experience definitely shines through in my personal style as I incorporate riding boots and other equestrian inspired pieces into my outfits.
