Hello all you Fashionistas/os! I am so thrilled to be writing this semester for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru. I am a second year student at Illinois State University majoring in Fashion Merchandising, with a minor in Business Environment and Sustainability.
I have always had a crazy passion for fashion and have been lucky enough to keep myself surrounded by it for as long as I can remember. From working at stores like dELiA*s and Guess I am constantly exposed to the latest trends in retail. While continuing to pursue my degree in Fashion Merchandising, I had the incredible opportunity this past summer to travel to several major cities throughout California with 35 other students through the AMDA department. Over the course of my trip I visited with buyers, designers and fashion forecasters from various top companies in the fashion industry.
This trip furthered my passion for fashion as well as resulted in my passion for sustainability and trying to get away from the idea of fast fashion. Instead, my focus is on buying higher quality staples for your wardrobe like an oversized cardigan or a pair of booties as well as implementing different statement pieces like a chunky necklace to keep up with the current trends.
I have a small obsession with rompers/playsuits and have a rapid growing collection of fabulous heels. I love animal print as much as the next girl. And cannot wait to share with you my style as well as the Fashionista/os found all over ISU’s campus this semester.
