Hi everyone! My name is Morgan Gundrum and I’m a junior at Syracuse University majoring in Public Relations and studying Fashion and Beauty Communications. This spring will be my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I’m beyond excited to start.
I’ve had an amazing two-and-a-half-years living at school but this semester I needed a change. Starting in mid-January, I will be studying abroad in London and traveling all around Europe! I’m so happy to be spending my first semester with CollegeFashionista exploring European trends and learning how to dress on an abroad budget.
As a young teenager, I was never much into fashion. I could always be found in the most basic outfit I could manage: jeans, a T-shirt and a comfy pair of shoes. I had braces for an awkwardly long period of time, claimed I was “too tall” for trends like rompers and high-waisted pants, and swore mascara was the only makeup I’d ever need.
I did not become truly passionate about fashion until I began working at Anthropologie my freshman year of college. I was not just inspired by the beauty of the clothing, but also the creativity and originality of my coworkers’ outfits. This experience motivated me to take my basic style to the next level.
My personal style changes with the seasons but you can always find me wearing neutral tones with an occasional pop of color. I’ve always loved shoes and this winter I’m all about the booties. I’ve also recently been into floppy hats, such as the inexpensive brown one I’m wearing. My style will continue to grow as I encounter Fashionista/os that continuously push the envelope and make bold choices.
Check back every Wednesday to see if my European finds can inspire your next outfit!
