My name is Jonathan McDougle and I attend East Carolina University as a sophomore, studying communications with a concentration in journalism. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve returned for a second semester working with CollegeFashionista, and I hope that you decide to continue taking this journey with me as a Style Guru.
I laud high fashion and those who work within it. The phrase, “Fashion hurts,” is something I live for. However, I’m grateful that I do not have to experience the painful side of fashion very often being that I am a guy. However with that territory it can sometimes be hard to watch trends, and find inspiration from someone when there are only a handful of fashion forward male icons to follow. I enjoy working with this internship because it gives me the opportunity to find stylish Fashionista/os, capture the essence of their style and write about it, hoping that can help inspire someone else.
CollegeFashionista has actually become a huge benefactor in helping me find some of the latest hot trends that translate into my particular style, which is another reason why I love the internship as well the site. As long as I can remember, fashion has been an outlet for me to express and set myself apart from those around me. I enjoy watching the evolution of my style when entering new eras of fashion.
Something I will always advocate as my style changes not only to myself but to others as well is to dress fashionably yet comfortably the majority of the time. Given that I am a college student always on the go, I feel it’s important to find a balance between the two.
Again I’m thrilled to be back so that I can help others achieve this same equilibrium by scouting other Fashionistas who share my same philosophy.
