Hi loves! My name is Ashley Porter (Ashley Nicole). I am currently a senior graduating in June from The Art Institute of St. Louis with a Fashion Marketing degree! This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am super excited to be apart of the team!
I heard about this site some time ago while exploring other fashion blogs to get ideas and inspirations for my own personal blog and YouTube one day! Currently, I am working on my blog I started in one of my classes. Blogging and being a YouTuber have always been an interest of mine, especially giving advice about fashion and beauty choices. After graduation, I plan to make my blog/YouTube a higher priority since it’s something I want to do more with. Having this internship will give me the confidence and stability to be able to be persistent about being a blogger/vlogger and wardrobe stylist all in one.
Fashion and makeup share a spot as my second loves; music and astrology are my first loves. I didn’t realize I had a strong passion for fashion and style until I began college in 2010. During this first college experience, I began to explore who I was in fashion and what my style was. I would always dress up when going to class or going out with some friends. As a child, I wanted to sew. I remember asking my mom and grandmother for a real sewing machine. My mom bought a toy one for both my sister and me. I tell people I am completely all over the place when it comes to my style. I have a love for a plethora of different styles, in which I love mixing two or more to create my very own unique style. I would say this makes me the Fashionista I am today. Also, I have a passion for helping people find their own personal unique style while giving them the ability to feel comfortable and keep up with current trends.
Again, I am excited to show the world about the St. Louis fashion we have through this internship! I plan to give my colleagues the spotlight on their sense of style.
