Hola, bonjour, ciáo and hello Fashionista/os. My name is Jordyn Murphy and I’m a sophomore at The George Washington University. I am majoring in International Business and Marketing with a plan to work in fashion after graduation, the Devil Wears Prada type of story. I’m honored to start my internship as a Style Guru and to capture the different styles that people play with in the wonderful city of D.C.
I became interested in fashion when I started modeling when I was younger. I would put on heels and practice my Gisele Bündchen strut down my long hallway, dreaming of days on the Victoria’s Secret runway. As I got older and not that much taller, I realized that my dream of being an angel might be a long shot. I turned my focus to fashion, becoming obsessed with collecting every Vogue magazine and watching endless episodes of Fashion Police.
My style changes everyday, depending on my mood. One day I’m channeling Kylie Jenner and the next day Olivia Palermo. The one thing that is a constant in my style, however, is comfort. My army inspired pants are stretchy and the two toned sweater adds warmth without adding bulk. My cheetah print Sperry Top-Sider slippers are the perfect statement piece to any outfit and my go-to slip on shoe. Living in Massachusetts, I chose this black jacket with ruffle details to add texture and warmth.
I can’t wait to meet the Fashionista/os out there and capture the array of styles! As Coco Chanel said, “Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway.”
