Hi there, I’m Allison! I’m a first year Fashion Merchandising major attending Academy of Art University. I’m a wacky mixture of Taiwanese, Welsh and French. I was born and raised here in the Bay Area, which makes me inclined to say “hella” in every sentence. You can probably see me rocking bright red lips and rolling down the street in high heels.
My love for fashion all started in high school when I was actually an aspiring medical student. Although I loved the idea of helping people, I realized my calling wasn’t in being a doctor the moment I discovered Lookbook. When people ask me about their first loves, they usually bring up a guy or a girl; if you ask me, I’ll say it was fashion. I realized how fashion can help anyone realize their full potential by putting on that cute pair of heels and more. I guess it was through that realization I decided to drop out of all of my medical classes and immediately signed up for fashion classes, and here we are today.
What I love about living in the Bay Area is how we have an extremely eclectic way of dressing. Attending fashion school here, I see so many different styles and everyone has a very distinct way of dressing. With the city being our campus, you see so many different styles. Here in the Bay, the weather isn’t extremely crazy and it’s usually this weird mixture of hot and cold. You see basically every style walking around the city, which is extremely inspiring because fashion rules simply don’t exist here.
I hope during my time here writing for CollegeFashionista I can show you how diverse Bay Area fashion is alongside how cool Academy of Art style is!
