Hey there! My name is Tanvi Kulkarni, and for the next semester I am a Style Guru here at CollegeFashionista. I go to the greatest school in the world, University of Michigan, as an undecided freshman. While football is a new love of mine, fashion has been a constant in my life since the beginning of high school, and I am so excited to enter the world of college fashion.
My style is nonexistent. Well, not nonexistent so much as undefinable. I like to switch up my look on the daily. Looking for interesting or weird places to shop is a favorite of mine as I have no one set style. Vintage and thrift stores are treasure troves for me. There is always something interesting to add to an outfit there, whether it be scarves or oversized jackets. Some of my favorite designers right now are Elie Saab, Paolo Sebastian and Oscar de la Renta. As you can see, I’m all about feminine, dramatic and classic pieces. Personally, clothes are a way to tell people how I’m feeling. Lazy, confident, adventurous or smart; it’s all a story told through some fabrics.
For more of my fashion, take a look at tbdfashion. This lovely blog was started by two of my friends and I. We created it to document more college fashion from three different campuses: Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and my beloved University of Michigan. We were even featured on here a couple months ago! Apart from blogging about fashion, I also model some in my spare time. Modeling actually sparked some of my interest in fashion and led me to where I am today.
When I’m not thinking about fashion, I obsess over musical theatre, Tumblr and completely irrelevant Buzzfeed articles. I’m all about music with some of my current favorite artists being George Ezra, Sam Smith and Misterwives. These change almost on a daily basis, just like my style. I am so very excited to meet and get to know the fashionable people here at Michigan, so as always, go blue!
