Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Michala Ebert and I am super excited to be starting my third semester with CollegeFashionista. I am currently studying apparel merchandising and design here at Central Michigan University and love learning more about my passion.
Since I was little, I have loved flipping through fashion magazines like Vogue and ELLE. It’s still one of my favorite pastimes. Trying on my mother’s clothing and playing dress up made for a perfect afternoon, and I sure did it often. Clothes have always been a way for me to express myself along with writing. That’s why being able to write about my passion for CollegeFashionista is such an amazing experience!
My favorite thing about fashion is that it can change and evolve when you do. Walking around campus and scoping out Central’s style is interesting because I get to see how my peers interpret trends and share it with all of you! My personal style is ever changing. Currently I am into edgy glamour. Black, leather and interesting textures are usually present in every ensemble I put on. To not appear too harsh, I love adding bling or a pop of color for a surprising twist. Creating contrast and emphasis with eye catching details is something I have always done. By having simple basics and fun statement pieces, it’s so easy to mix and match plenty of outfits all semester long.
Fashion is a part of everybody’s life whether they realize it or not. Simply getting dressed in the morning can tell the world so much about you. This semester, my goal is to show you how students around campus express themselves through their clothing and how you can create awesome looks using them as inspiration. Fashion is fun, and experimenting with different trends is something anyone can do. So get ready for a semester filled with lots of advice and fashion forward students! Just can’t wait? Here’s some of my previous articles about puffer vests, leather and study sessions at the library to get you ready for one stylish semester.
