Looking to check one of the hottest runway shows of the spring 2015 season? Look no further. Greg Lauren’s show was full of some awesome grungy looks that reminded me of a dystopian novel. One usually associate fashion with dystopian novels, but the show had a cool effortless worker feel to it. (You have to go see it for yourself!) There are so many aspects of the Greg Lauren show that you can easily incorporate into your everyday style. I decided to focus on the monochromatic layering in the show.
In my look I wore only muted colors. By not wearing completely monochromatic colors, I made the outfit more wearable. Since some of the models in the show wore overalls, I broke out my army green leather overalls. Under them I wore a basic long sleeve top and to throw a little of my personal edge, I added a sleeveless hoodie. Since it’s quite cold, a slouchy beanie, tights and knee-highs were a must!
If you are feeling super adventurous and want to channel the grunge from this runway show you can try adding an oversized jacket as one more layer. Keeping with the color scheme, I chose a revamped vintage army jacket by Jack Vaneck. All in all, the look is basically a lot of layers with the same color scheme. This modified runway look is super wearable and easy to throw together!
