Philipp Plein’s pre-fall 2015 collection took me on a fairytale-like journey, where it felt as if anything was possible and everything was make believe. Right off the bat, it had such an ethereal feel using mostly pastel purples and pinks. It took a turn into more of the Maleficent fairytale land with all-black ensembles featuring spikes and studs. I noticed throughout the collection that he played around a lot with the circle skirt shape, as well as with fur coats. There was one look in particular that I found extremely captivating, and I decided to recreate it with my own spin.
The look I was inspired by was completely monochromatic using purple tones. I decided to switch up the colors. For my look I paired a simple white textured top with a structured pastel pink circle skirt. Adding a hint of glamour to my outfit, I draped a black faux fur jacket over my top. Now, in this collection he did not layer tights under the skirts and dresses. However, I live in Ohio so I added a pair of basic black tights underneath my skirt, because bare legs in January are just not an option. To accessorize I decided to lay a chunky silver chain around my neck and rock a pair of black strappy platform sandals.
If you are a Fashionista who doesn’t normally step outside your comfort zone to sport faux fur, I would recommend starting small with a vest instead of an over the top jacket. I promise it will have you feeling just as fabulous as I did in this outfit in no time at all!
