When I spotted this Fashionista, her sweater was what immediately caught my eye. The first thought that came to my mind was that the Tribal pattern might be an oldie, but it is definitely still a goodie! There are so many variations of this motif that it can be appropriate to wear in so many different settings…it all depends on how one chooses to style it.
While this Fashionista chose to keep her look comfy-casual, it is a look that is far from appearing basic. She matched her fringed sweater with plum colored jeans that complemented the purple lines in her sweater so perfectly, they might as well have been sold together as an outfit. (I asked her of course, but they weren’t! She really is just that savvy.)
By layering it over a T-shirt, her sweater was able to keep her sufficiently warm, without looking too bulky or unflattering. Her army green sneakers gave her whole look a surprising twist. I personally would never have thought of pairing those shoes with the outfit, which is what initially intrigued me about it. Although at first glance the two colors seem to clash, they are both dark tones so they work together in a way that unexpectedly looks just…right.
Because there is already so much going in her outfit, any bold jewelry pieces would have been too distracting. Her rings and bracelets, which she referred to as her “daily collection,” are perfect because they are small and neutral colored.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “You don’t have to wear ugly grandma sweaters or boring bulky sweatshirts to stay warm. You can layer cute, funky knits and still feel comfortable and cozy!”
