Winter and neutrals seem to be the perfect pair. While viewing the spring 2015 Hermès collection, I could not get over the simplistic monochromatic influences that designer Christophe Lemaire created. The fluidity of the clothing and the draping aspect they exuded had me inspired. The slight pops of color in some of the looks also caught my eye as an excellent way to draw ones eyes to your favorite accessory. I was excited to see mustard and hunter green as some of the surprising color associations with the neutral ensembles.
I wanted to try this look out for myself by using my neutral wrap coat while having the rest of my outfit follow suit in varying shades of brown. My cozy cream sweater was the perfect layering tool underneath my coat, which allowed the dynamic drapery influence to become prominent. My beloved mustard cross-body bag was included to show the variation that was demonstrated in the show, thus breaking up the monochromatic influence. I love adding small pops of color to an outfit if I am wanting to showcase a certain accessory as well as contrast the overall neutrality of the look. I decided on a loose pant to emphasize the ease and sophistication of the show but went with some fun sneakers to add some of my style in. This look is perfect for running errands or enjoying a much needed shopping day with your girlfriends.
A monochromatic outfit brings forth an elegant simplicity that is easily achievable and can be added to anyone’s wardrobe. Add some of your personal style by how you accessorize and layer.
