This Fashionista shows a perfect example of how you can easily transition a fun printed tank dress from summer to fall/winter with a few additions. First, she added a black kimono with fabulous fringe trim along the bottom. Not only does this add movement and great detail, but it also added another layer for when temperatures start to drop. It was an unusually warm winter day in Philadelphia when I spotted this Fashionista, so follow her lead when crafting an outfit for similar weather.
Next, she added a great pair of black heels with a pair of fun maroon fox socks that are a nod to her eccentric style. This just goes to show when you take fashion risks such as this, (socks and sandals), it really pays off. She didn’t stop there with the great accessories, though. She sported a great pair of mod Twiggy-style sunglasses. Not many people can rock these as effortlessly as this Fashionista, but it really adds a fabulous, sophisticated vibe. Last but definitely not least, she added a fabulous Robert Matthew tote bag to complete the look. In addition to being functional with its size and pockets, it also adds that awesome pop of color that any black and white outfit needs to take it to the next level. If you aren’t as daring as this Fashionista, but want to upgrade your style, have no fear! There are some ways you too can achieve a more sophisticated look.
How To: You can add simple things to a plain dress, such as a cardigan or kimono with fringe. Fur is also an option. We can’t forget about accessories; they are vital to completing the outfit. Add a pair of fun glasses or a colorful bag to add that extra pop to an otherwise ordinary ensemble. It’s all about incorporating bright colors, patterns and textures, no matter how small.
