There’s something to be said for shoes that are comfortable enough to wander in, but sophisticated enough to be seen wandering in. This idea definitely resonated with Peter Som when he designed his spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, which had models walking down the runway in jewel tones and metallic fringed flat sandals with a raffia detail on the sole that together, heralded the excitement towards the warm weather on the horizon.
Taking a cue from Peter Som, I paired my relaxed tan and leopard print sandals with bright effervescent colors to create an outfit perfect for brunch or a day of errands. I am wearing a tangerine colored flowy top layered with a chunky metallic necklace. Dark jeans and a “look at me” red structured tote complete the look. The patterned flat sandals are extremely functional, and provide comfort without having to skimp on style. The simple dash of animal print adds character to a simple outfit.
Flat sandals are the easiest way to embellish an ensemble while keeping aching feet at bay! Wearing everyday flats with a ripped jeans and graphic t-shirt combination is common knowledge, but pairing metallic or colored flats with a cocktail dress could do the trick as well. When worn with a slinky little black dress, flats are a godsend for a girls night out full of dancing and adventuring. While they are second nature on a beach, sandals can look right at home even in the classroom when appropriately paired with an A-line skirt and blouse.
Get My Look: 1. A head turning breezy top. 2. A punchy statement bag. 3. Flat shoes to die for.Â
