Fall 2015 menswear has arrived in all its glory from London to Florence, then to Milan (and by the time you read this, it has just come to an end in Paris)! I am loving this season’s knitted sweaters, plain or graphic, and the marvelous coats (especially this shearling piece by Tom Ford). To name a couple of my favourites, Belstaff and Christopher Kane were an absolute treat to my eyes and I’ve already taken some inspiration for transforming my closet this upcoming fall. From the pure elation of fall 2015 Men’s Fashion Week, I was on a hunt to finding a Fashionisto at UBC-O this week.
Here, this Fashionisto wears the traditional single-breasted topcoat, gray V-neck sweater, straight fit jeans, a pair of fold-down boots and a color-block backpack. This coat has a zip-out bib that creates the trendy layered look, and the sweater fits effortlessly beneath it.
When giving a presentation in class, it is essential to look our best for that boost of confidence. While presenting in the classroom, we naturally wouldn’t wear our outerwear, due to its heaviness and the lack of room for movements. This outfit is guaranteed to look sharp even without the coat on. The cashmere sweater is not only comfortable, but also professional looking. As presenters, we tend to point to our slide shows or projects, so I’d suggest rolling up the sleeves for extra room and to show off your favourite watch! The denim gives off that casual vibe, which complements and mixes in with the dressy-looking sweater nicely. If you have a pair of glasses like this Fashionisto, it is definitely an accessory that will further your relaxed, yet professional, presentation look.
One Simple Change: Heading out for a drink to celebrate finishing your presentation? Layer on a scarf for that extra warmth while walking around town and switch out those boots for a pair of comfortable loafers. Make sure you leave your backpack in your trunk so you’re not carrying any additional weight!
