The inspiration behind this effortless look came from the spring 2015 ready-to-wear kate spade new york collection. What I noticed the most were the boxy shapes that were incorporated into many of the pieces including some of the dresses and tops. Usually these silhouettes aren’t the most flattering, but I tried my hardest to work around that.
In college, we all have those days when we just want to roll out of bed because we stayed up a little too late studying (or partying) the night before. Those days where all we want to do is throw on that free T-shirt we got from an event on campus last week with a pair of leggings. Well today was that day. The only difference with me is that my version of a lazy day outfit would be throwing on a plain T-shirt dress.
Comfort is key, so being able to put little to no effort into my outfits in the mornings while still being stylish is what I live for. Pieces like this are essential in everyone’s wardrobe because it can easily be taken from one occasion to the next. What I love most about this dress is that it is so simple but it can really be fashionable when paired with the right accessories.
To enhance the look I decided to add a classic faux leather vest with stud details on the shoulders. This definitely takes this super casual dress up a few notches. Finally to finish off the outfit, I slipped on the easiest, most comfortable shoes I could find: my trusty Birkenstock-inspired sandals.
