This winter, one major trend I am seeing and absolutely loving is faux fur vests. Literally there are so many stores selling their own styles and you can be sure to see at least ten of them styled differently on a night out in Gainesville. Fur outerwear pieces were all the rage on the runways in many of the fall 2014 ready-to-wear shows, including many looks in Marc Jacobs’ and Isabel Marant’s collections.
This trend can be hard to pull off, but I found a Fashionista who looked head to toe chic in her faux fur vest. Today’s Fashionista wore a black faux fur vest similar to this Target one and paired it with a Gap chambray button-down with gold thread running through it and dark wash jeans. She also wore the cutest pair of black suede Tory Burch ankle booties, a gold Fossil watch with a hot pink face and carried a nude kate spade new york purse.
Her overall look followed the minimalist trend as she paired different neutral pieces together that were all classic silhouettes. She also made her outfit very appealing to the eye by bringing different textures together. The faux fur, denim, chambray, suede and leather all blended together perfectly and still let her trendy vest stand out.
You can find so many different colors and styles of fur vests right now and at all different price points. Make sure to try out this trend before the winter weather runs out (and before all the fabulous faux fur vests are sold out).
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Neutrals are never boring as long as you pair them in interesting ways and add different textures! A faux fur vest is the perfect way to do this this winter!”
