Black, white and gray have been a common color scheme throughout my closet for years, and no matter how much I try to stray away, I always end up buying that little black dress that I NEEDED to have. For me, it does not matter what the season is; I always seem to find a way to rock black in the summer and white after Labor Day. Yes, I know wearing white after Labor Day is a huge no-no in the fashion world, but it is always a color I am drawn to. I told myself in the beginning of the year I had to break my trend of only buying monochromatic clothing, but I have definitely gone back on my word after seeing the spring 2015 ready-to-wear Givenchy fashion show. So many fashion designers have done the whole black and white theme for their upcoming line, but Givenchy has created a completely new way to pair black and white together.
After looking through the different outfits the models strutted down the runway, a certain trend caught my eye. Think you know what caught my eye? I’m sure your guess would be the little black dresses seen throughout the show. While that is a good guess, I have to admit what caught my eye were the leather knee-high tights being worn. I knew this was a trend I could easily translate into my own style, and sure enough, I was right. Knee-high black tights have become a staple item in my wardrobe. They are a great way to dress an outfit up. I love wearing flowing T-shirt dresses, so when I am trying to make my look less casual, I’ll throw on a pair of knee-high tights to add a little something to my look. Yes, I haven’t broken my chain of black, white and gray clothing, but I can say I’ve found a new way to sport a monochromatic look.
