This week has brought uncharacteristically warm weather to the Austin College campus (it was seriously 80 degrees yesterday!). While it’s too warm for heavy coats and scarves, it’s still too early in the year to be wearing shorts and sandals. So what is one to wear in odd weather like this? Well, I got my answer after spotting this Fashionista.
This Fashionista shows us how we can still wear our favorite springtime pieces in winter. She paired this sheer embroidered blouse with a black maxi skirt, and she flawlessly pulls off this maxi-skirt-for-winter look by adding a pair of slouchy ankle boots. What I really like about this outfit is how the Fashionista wasn’t afraid to add spring colors to her winter look. The purple camisole under her cream blouse adds an unexpected pop of color to an otherwise neutral color palette. Her bright woven headband and printed boots also add some color to her outfit. She completes her ensemble with a pair of gold animal head earrings.
It was refreshing to see this Fashionista add bright springtime colors to her boho chic outfit. This look is perfect for a day of shopping or Sunday brunch with your friends. We should all learn from this Fashionista and incorporate our favorite spring or summer accessories into our fall and winter wardrobes.
One Simple Change: Love this outfit but don’t have a maxi skirt? Just switch out the skirt for a pair of dark skinny jeans for a look that you can wear to class.
