Groundhog day has come and gone, and with the news that old Phil has seen his shadow, it’s time to buckle in for another six weeks of winter. Regardless of whether you were daydreaming of sunny springtime or perfectly content with the wintery chill, don’t push those comfy sweaters to the back of your closet just yet, because by the looks of it, you’ll be needing them.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of winter weather beyond the few magical months leading up to the holiday season. By the time February rolls around, I often find myself in a bit of a slump. Walking to class and promptly losing feeling in my hands and feet may have something to do with this, but I can’t be entirely sure. Brutal walks aside, the three things that I can unquestionably credit to my survival of this chilly season are as follows: thick socks, giant cups of tea and, of course, fluffy oversized sweaters.
Chunky knit sweaters and cardigans are always the first images to pop into my head when I think of winter wardrobe essentials, and this Fashionista totally nailed the look. The soft loose knit texture of her sandy-beige cardigan immediately caught my eye, and looks perfectly cozy for long winter days. Her high-waisted jeans, combat boots and black infinity scarf pull the look together with just the right amount of edge.
One Simple Change: To bring this look from mild winter weather to cold weather wear, simply add in a trendy beanie, a pair of gloves and your warmest jacket.
