Oscar Wilde once said, “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” In this case, I don’t think that any statement could be more fitting. What a perfect motto to live by when you are thinking about internships. Regardless if you are a fashion major or a sports medicine major, I am sure that you have that dream internship that you’re just dying to land. Having several internships of my own, I have always found it absolutely necessary to find appropriate professional internship clothing that still emulates my own personal style.
I caught up with this Fashionista as she was on a quick break from her internship with the campus magazine. This Fashionista rocks a tan blazer with hot pink accents over a black T-shirt and an Old Navy tank top. Finally, she tops off her outfit by accessorizing with a statement Betsey Johnson gold watch and a great pair of Hunter Boots. My favorite part about the way that this Fashionista styled her outfit is the way that it combines a vibe of professionalism with youthfulness. Even though she needs to represent herself at an internship in a mature way, there is still a little room for experimenting with outfits since she has an internship at such a creative outlet.
One Simple Change: If your internship requires you to wear a skirt or dress to the workplace, have no fear! Simply replace the jeans with a little black dress and a pair of fun tights. These small changes show how versatile pieces like a blazer and Hunter Boots are.
