Are you ready for summer already? Are you craving live music festivals, tanning lotion with gold reflects and a Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher? Are you craving the sun hugging your skin as you tan by a rooftop pool or on one of your campus’ large green lawns? You’re not alone!
Technically it is still winter, but who cares if we can’t contain our excitement? I think the best way to channel this overall sentiment is to pick up our favorite shades, layer on a kimono/poncho and bring out some of the Beyoncé Knowles approved summer staples!
Here, this Fashionista surely shows us how it’s done.
She wears a striped open poncho atop a basic white T-shirt knotted and cropped at the waist. To add, she wears camel-colored high-waisted trouser shorts and matching leather ankle boots. To accessorize, she sports a black ostrich cross-body bag, cool shades and some awesome beachy/boho-chic flash tattoos!
Luckily for us in Jacksonville, there are random spurts of “sunny with a high of 75,” and that is what brings us to this light, free-flowing Coachella-approved look. However, elements from this Fashionista’s look can still be incorporated into winter ensembles for those of you up north!
Now, let’s all hold hands, sing “Kumbaya,” call out for Mr. Sun and order a hot Starbucks Refresher even if we get weird looks from every barista while we’re at it!
How To: Bold or “bolt” up your everyday look! Check out Bolt Bands by UNF senior, Alexis Howick, and incorporate some rad flash metallic into your look! My favorite are her Egyptian inspired “Mandy” tattoos! Also, substitute the open poncho for a blanket cape and shorts for high-waisted skinny jeans if you live in a colder climate area!
