One of my favorite things about fashion is being able to witness how people style themselves with items that I could never picture myself in, either because I don’t like them or because I just don’t believe that I could possibly ever pull them off. This goes for all fashion items: clothes, accessories and shoes. Now as we all know, my love for shoes is no secret, so it should come as no surprise that I really enjoy seeing people rocking shoe trends that I personally don’t follow. One of these trends is riding boots.
Now the point has come to let you all know that I do not own a single pair of riding boots. I don’t know, I guess I just can’t see myself pulling them off because in my mind, they’re not Paula enough (yup, I’m the psycho running around the snow in ankle booties). Despite this, I love seeing how people incorporate them in their outfits to create unique styles daily. Riding boots are timeless and can dress any outfit up or down, depending on how you style them. Besides keeping you super warm and safe from any consequences of the crazy weather that has been taunting us lately, they add a completely different flare to outfits and make them very preppy, classy and effortlessly chic. Their ability to make any outfit stand out and the fact that they are such a staple piece are what I love the most about them.
Taking the above into account, it shouldn’t be hard to understand why I love this Fashionista’s look. Although simple, her outfit is perfect for a day of classes and running around campus. She’s fighting the cold weather in a dark blue coat, with a beige sweater and floral dress underneath, which add that peekaboo effect to her look. Her black tights tie the look together and match the dark tones of the outfit, while the rest of her accessories complete it. Her beige tote bag and burgundy oversized infinity scarf accent the outfit and match her camel riding boots perfectly. The boots undoubtedly give the outfit its finishing touch and catch everyone’s attention. Stylish, girly, preppy and above all, unique. You’re killing it, girl.
How To: Want an outfit that screams preppy and girly? Pair a patterned dress with plain tights and throw a similar colored oversized jacket on top. Accessorize the look with a different colored chunky scarf, your favorite tote bag and the perfect pair of riding boots to make the outfit stand out and you’re all set!
