It’s no secret that this past week has been legendary in the fashion world to say the least. New York has had every Fashionista near and far with their eyes glued to wherever they could see the latest designers’ work walk down the runway. What I love most about this time is the chance to get a glimpse of what will be modified versions of our fall closet. Believe me; the urge to go out to get a new wardrobe has never been worse. I also enjoy getting to know upcoming and less well-known designers, which is why I chose to emulate a look from Libertine’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show.
Johnson Hartig made the brand Libertine; his collections are known to be a punk street style while using recycled clothing. Throughout the show, you saw this style and the use of graphics in many of his looks. Overall, I thought a large amount of the designers used the color red in at least one of their looks for this fashion week. In my outfit, I used red the same way that Hartig did in the show.
I accomplished this by using a similar, bright red color, like one used in Libertine’s show, with a different style kind of pant. I went with a straight leg jean, and with this pop of color, it only felt right to go with a more basic shade such as black. To not take away from the statement of the pants but still keep it street styled and fun, I wore an oversized black graphic sweater. I accessorized this look with a studded black tote that complemented the outfit well, and I used a neutral color pair of boots.
Get My Look: 1. An oversized sweater. 2. Hot red pants. 3. Black tote bag.
