STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bohemian Layering

Just when we thought we had the worst that this Midwestern winter had too offer, it dishes out beyond cruel single-digit temperatures that has us Fashionistas running to our closets for more layers. Although this weather has us wishing for the warmer days of summer and ultimately reminiscing on all of our festival-inspired boho looks, this Fashionista shows that the cool looks of summer can easily be translated into winter wear. Her fringe, suede booties caught my eye along with her distressed leather bag that eloquently complemented her olive green jacket and mittens. Strategic layering can really make a look stand out if done properly and this Fashionista knocks it out of the park with her layering look, complete with the perfect winter accessories and a summer-influenced vibe.

This Fashionista portrays a free-spirited eclectic essence, one that is layered in earthy tones and brown suede details. It seems this Fashionista pulled all of the coolness of summer and translated it into the definition of a fabulous winter look. Her tapered cardigan peek-a-boos just enough underneath her parka, giving her that perfect layering look that adds an overall dimension to her outfit. She pulls off an intriguing contrast to her look with her gray and lime green leggings, good for if you need a quick transition from class to the gym. From her fringe booties, to her leather satchel, and not to mention those seriously rad patterned mittens, this Fashionista has totally pulled off the ultimate winter layering look with a bohemian flare.

It seems that us Fashionistas are striving for ways to intermix the different seasons together in a way that is comfortable and fashionable. Personally, my winter wardrobe only extends so far so it is great to gather some inspiration to simply switch up my regular combat boots with my summer suede booties; socks and scarves included.
