One of the hottest trends for winter this year has been faux shearling jackets. They are the perfect thickness for those cold days and can be so comfortable that you will never want to take it off. The versatility with these coats is endless and their popularity is increasing.
This trend takes me all the way back to the 1980s. I love ’80s fashion and everything about a shearling jacket embodies this decade. Through the years, the silhouette and style of shearling jackets has come a long way and continues to evolve. Today, more designers are producing faux shearling jackets in their own unique way and incorporating their aesthetic to make their coats stand out amongst the others.
Our Fashionista here is wearing the perfect faux shearling jacket. Her coat is an army green color with a structured design. It mimics the silhouette and design of a moto jacket. The faux shearling is lined on the inside of her jacket, which I love because it keeps the look more subtle and simple. I have been seeing more minimal faux shearling jackets in stores and online recently.
Looking at our Fashionista, she styled her look to perfection. She paired a basic long sleeve T-shirt to go under her army green faux shearling jacket with black skinny jeans and black Frye boots. She kept her look simple and trendy and is still able to keep warm on this cold day at Baylor.
