Typically when it hits the dead of winter, my wardrobe starts to consist of neutrals upon neutrals. Honestly, this is one of my favorite things to do. Neutrals will continue to be something that is classic, versatile and will never go out of style. You might think wearing tons of neutrals might get a little bland after a while but nothing is more understated then mixing basic colors to completely transform your outfit.
This Fashionista exhibits the neutral trend throughout her outfit perfectly. To start her look she wears a maroon colored cropped top, which I love. Layered over this crop top is a perfect cream knit cardigan. During the winter people usually don’t wear crop tops too often because of the colder weather. If you layer your crop top properly, like this Fashionista, you can wear them almost all year-round. Wearing maroon as a darker neutral accent color adds depth to this outfit compared to the lighter color of the cream cardigan. To keep with the maroon accent she wears a maroon paisley scarf. that adds even more detail to her outfit. Her dark brown riding boots pair perfectly as well with the outfit. For accessories she wore a simple opal stone necklace.
By layering neutrals and similar colors together, this Fashionista’s outfit is anything but boring. She mixes and matches different values of colors. By using simple silhouettes that can simply be mixed and matched, your outfit can still look eye-catching. Adding a neutral print that is similar in color to the basis of your outfit, like this Fashionista did with her scarf, it adds a subtle pop without being too overpowering.
