Spring is right around the corner, and that means it is time to break out the pastels. Transitioning your wardrobe from one season to another can become a daunting task, but it does not have to be.
Living in the Midwest, this Fashionista knows jumping straight from sweaters to sun dresses is not plausible. She still dressed for the frigid temperatures, wearing pants, boots and a cardigan but introduced spring into her color palette. A classic spring pastel can easily be inserted into an outfit. Whether you substitute your black slacks for a pastel or even spruce up a winter outfit with spring accessories, transitioning your wardrobe does not have to be an all-or-nothing switch.
This Fashionista’s outfit is a great transition from winter to spring. She stuck with the black and white scheme of the winter season in her top and cardigan. She snuck in a hope for spring with her mint skinny jeans. Wearing a primarily monochromatic outfit allows the mint pants to pop in their subtle, pastel way. The color is light enough that it does not dominate the outfit but adds depth and a spring flare. She opted to keep her outfit simple, without the hassle of accessories, but another option she could have taken would be to pair her outfit with a pastel or flower necklace.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? [When transitioning into spring,] I unfortunately cannot jump straight into floral dresses and flirty skirts. Instead, I like to add in hints of spring colors, whether they are the now-trending neon colors or a classic pastel.
