Angelos Bratis’ fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was at the height of glamour. The silk pieces glided effortlessly across the models’ figures in a way that was modest yet flattering. The pieces managed to keep within the caliber of classy, yet they made a statement of exposure through one statement slit.
In my personal style, I took inspiration from the collection and decided to incorporate a statement slit. It may not be fall, but with the weather being as cold as it is where I live, fall clothing was only fitting. I reached into the back of my closet for my cozy oatmeal sweater.
The sweater provides a lot of coverage, but has two deep slits on the sides that make for a good peek-a-boo effect if you want to show off a patterned skirt that may be hidden by the oversized nature of the sweater. Under mine, I have on a grunge-inspired plaid skirt. The skirt adds pops of color that complement the sweater perfectly. To keep extra warm, I wore some black tights. I also added some ankle booties to balance out the chunkiness of my outfit on top. No matter what, I always want to put my most fashionable foot forward and these shoes do just the trick.
I am very excited to practice this trend more when the season of fall rolls around. It will be a fun way to stay warm while adding extra interest to my daily style.
